While the cronut craze may be dying down (we think), delectable puffy pastries from renowned dessert chef Dominique Ansel's eponymous sweets cafe isn't going away anytime soon.

For you busy mamma's on the go, this is a great place to stop for coffee and light sandwiches. We also love it because it's a great place to stop by for an afternoon snack.

Food tips:
- Unless you get there crazy early, you're probably going to miss the cronuts (duh).  Fear not, however, the DKA (Dominique’s Kouign Amann) is just as good, and you can also go for the milk and cookies (yum) and/or the smores bars.
- Plenty of sandwich options as well if you want something more substantive.  Of course, the key draw is the desserts, no doubt!

Baby tips:
- Believe it or not, there is a nice (and relatively spacious) seating area out in the back -- with great lighting!  During peak hours it may be packed, but we found that we never have trouble finding a seat.
- The tricky part is getting your stroller to the seating area (the front side of the shop can get very cramped, especially with long queues).  This is where you're going to have to use your stroller muscles and just charge ahead like Moses parting the Red Sea.  Believe me, the crowd of people will make way when they see mom and bubs coming.  Just be careful, nothing competes with pastries quite like a cute baby!  You're going to get a lot of coo'ing along the way.

Afterwards, you can walk off those crazy calories at nearby Vesuvio Playground on Thompson street (between Spring and Prince).  It's actually a great spot for the littles, with outdoor pools and spray shower.
