It’s not every day that you get to enjoy a Japanese breakfast buffet at a chic boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown San Francisco, but that is precisely what yours truly and family got to do earlier this year!  We were staying in the comforts of the hotel (for more details about the hotel itself see here), which was filled with Asian-inspired charm and accents throughout – and in the morning we were treated to an amazing breakfast spread in the adjoining Anzu restaurant of the hotel.  It’s always nice to be able to spend your first waking hours relaxing with the little munchkin at a luxury hotel, where you know that there is ample space for him to explore, while you enjoy a cup of joe, or two (in mamma’s case it was matcha tea, which was delicious!!!).

It’s hard to believe that an entire month has gone by since our visit to the West Coast (why just today the little man and I were going over a map in his bilingual book on Schools), and I had to point out some recent places he’s visited (New Zealand, Florida, California, and the like).

Speaking of California – we were absolutely delighted to have visited the MKT Restaurant and Bar and the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. We were really just passing through the lovely Bay Area (post Super Bowl 2016), and couldn’t have been more thrilled that we had a chance to visit one of my favorite restaurants on Market Street (the last time we came was in 2014, sans hubs and son).

The world is becoming more global… as hubs and I are increasingly realizing that it’s totally kosher to fly 10k miles (give or take), stop and refresh, and then head out for a fine dining experience – all with a little two year old in tow.

Of course, the secret sauce is finding the right place, and we totally lucked out with Zibibbo in Wellington!  For starters, the ambience was both sophisticated and friendly (not an easy combo to come by I tell you), and our little man was nestled comfortably in a bright and airy corner all by himself (with a view of the restaurant, so he doesn’t feel like he’s missing out).
